SHC SYSTEM
Smarteh heating and cooling automation system (SHC) is based on pre-configured SHC cabinets, which represent a flexible and efficient solution for managing heating and cooling stations in residential, public, commercial and industrial buildings.
Regardless of whether it is a new construction or a renovation, SHC cabinets offer a compact and integrated automation system, ready for fast installation and easy configuration. Unlike solutions on the market that require a predefined hydraulic design, the SHC system adapts to the existing hydraulic configuration of the building, without demanding modifications and regardless of system complexity.
The system operates on the basis of weather-compensated control. It automatically adjusts the supply temperature for each mixing circuit according to the outdoor control temperature, with each circuit following its own heating curve, tailored to the specifications of the corresponding part of the building.
The system can be operated locally via the intuitive colour touchscreen or remotely via the SmartehCloud platform, providing efficient and reliable system control.
PRE-CONFIGURED SHC CABINETS
SHC cabinets are standardised products that include all necessary components for connecting, monitoring and controlling heating and cooling sources – from buffer tanks, valves and pumps to temperature sensors. They are designed as a »plug and play« solution, without the need for additional programming, unnecessary modifications or additional costs.
The basic SHC-002 cabinet can be expanded by adding SHC-E02 cabinets. Each additional cabinet enables the addition of 3 mixing circuits, allowing the system to be expanded to 6, 9 or a maximum of 12 mixing circuits. The modular design does not require complex electrical modifications or additional settings. The screen integrated into the basic cabinet already contains a pre-installed application for managing the entire expandable system.

FLEXIBLE CONFIGURATION
The settings allow the system to be adapted to different building requirements and the wiring diagram to be configured according to the actual project implementation. The system also enables the easy addition of non-standard functions using simple operating logic of the available relays.
OPTIMISED SYSTEM OPERATION
Automated boiler room management optimizes system operation, improves energy efficiency, reduces energy consumption and contributes to lower operating costs. In systems with multiple heating circuits, SHC ensures a gradual, priority-based start-up and shutdown of circuits, preventing source overload and ensuring stable operation of the entire system.
OPERATIONAL RELIABILITY
Support for multiple heat sources at the same time also means greater operational reliability. If one of the sources fails or becomes unavailable, the system can automatically take over the heat supply with another available source.
REMOTE ACCESS
Easy monitoring of system operation, as well as remote control and adjustment of settings from different devices, enable system control even when outside the building. The system can also be connected to higher-level control systems.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONALITIES
SUPPORT FOR DIFFERENT ENERGY SOURCES
For individual sources, temperature can be monitored via sensors or the sources can also be directly controlled. Currently, the following sources are supported for control and monitoring: heat pumps, gas boilers, pellet boilers, oil boilers, solid fuel boilers, solar systems, electric heaters, district heating and wastewater systems.
CONTROL OF DIFFERENT TYPES OF PUMPS
Control is available for binary (on/off), PWM or analog pumps (0-10 V or 4-20 mA).
MODULAR EXPANDABILITY
The basic SHC-002 cabinet can be expanded by adding SHC-E02 cabinets. Each additional cabinet adds 3 mixing circuits and 2 additional sources, allowing the system to be expanded to 6, 9 or a maximum of 12 mixing circuits.
OPTIMISATION OF ENERGY CONSUMPTION
For each mixing circuit, desired temperatures and up to 4 different operating schedules can be set. Switching between user modes is also available: default night, day, travel and party mode. When a circuit is equipped with a room thermostat, the system can further adjust the regulation based on the difference between the desired and actual room temperature, while a sensor installed on the supply or return line allows the regulation to also be adjusted based on the circuit’s actual energy consumption.
REMOTE MONITORING AND CONTROL
Remote monitoring and control of the system is available via the SmartehCloud platform, provided that the controller is connected to the internet – wired or wireless.
FREELY PROGRAMMABLE INPUTS AND OUTPUTS (I/O)
Using the free operating logic of the available inputs and outputs, the system can be further adapted to the requirements of the building. The SHC-001 cabinet provides 2 free relay outputs, while the SHC-002 and SHC-E02 cabinets provide 2 free relay outputs and 2 Triac outputs.
PRE-CONFIGURED PROTECTION FUNCTIONS
To protect the system and ensure reliable operation, SHC includes legionella protection, periodic pump activation, and protection against overheating and freezing. For systems with a cooling function, condensation protection is also available: a condensation sensor detects condensation forming on the pipes, and the system automatically adjusts the water temperature to maintain maximum cooling without the risk of condensation.
SYSTEM CONTROL
The basic SHC cabinet is equipped with a powerful 7″ colour touchscreen, which enables local system control and is based on Smarteh’s programmable logic controller (PLC).
APPLICATION
The SHC application provides clear monitoring of the entire heating and cooling system, as well as configuration of sources, mixing circuits, sensors and other elements.
HOME SCREEN
The home screen provides a quick overview of the current system status, mixing circuits, sources, and basic operating information. After an extended period of inactivity, a screensaver is automatically activated.
SETTING TEMPERATURES, SCHEDULES AND OPERATING MODES
For each mixing circuit, desired temperatures, schedules and operating modes can be set according to the building’s needs.
MULTI-LEVEL ACCESS
The system provides separate access levels for the installer and the user. The installer has access to advanced configuration functions and system settings, while the user has access to the functions required for everyday operation.
SYSTEM SETTINGS
The system can be configured and individual operating parameters can be set according to the building’s requirements and the implemented hydraulic scheme.
WIRING DIAGRAM OVERVIEW
The graphical wiring diagram provides a clear overview of the connections of individual components and the system configuration.
SENSOR OVERVIEW
All connected sensors and their current values are displayed in one place. This enables a quick overview of the system status and easier monitoring and identification of potential irregularities.
ALARMS AND E-MAIL NOTIFICATIONS
The application enables the review of active and historical alarms, as well as their acknowledgement and reset. The system also enables automatic e-mail notifications about alarms, so users can be notified of important events even when they are not directly present at the device.
TEMPERATURE TRENDS
The graphical display of temperature trends enables monitoring of temperature changes over time. This makes it easy to monitor system operation and its response to changes in settings.
SHC SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
1. SYSTEM ANALYSIS
The SHC system settings enable fast and intuitive system configuration via the pre-installed SHC application on the integrated touchscreen. Unlike comparable solutions which typically require costly and extensive hardware and installation modifications, the SHC system adapts to the actual configuration of the heating and cooling system through its settings.
2. SELECTION OF THE APPROPRIATE SHC SYSTEM
Based on the analysis and requirements, the most suitable SHC system configuration is selected, with additional SHC-E02 extensions if required. When selecting the appropriate SHC system, we also provide professional assistance at sales@smarteh.si
3. SYSTEM CONFIGURATION
Via the touchscreen, the installer selects and configures all system components in the SHC application (sources, buffer tanks, pumps, valves and sensors).
4. GENERATION OF THE HYDRAULIC SCHEME
Based on all data entered in the system settings, a hydraulic scheme is automatically generated that reflects the actual system configuration. The hydraulic scheme is automatically updated when system settings are changed. The scheme is accessible on the screen or via a web browser on any device. It can also be printed and saved for project documentation purposes.
5. DEVICE CONNECTION
At the same time as the scheme, all terminal connection labels for electrical wiring are also generated, which significantly simplifies electrical wiring, reduces the possibility of errors and shortens system integration time.
SMART HEAT SOURCE MANAGEMENT
SHC enables heat source operation to be adapted according to energy prices, building requirements and source availability, optimising energy consumption and operating costs.
ADJUSTMENT OF THE HEATING CURVE
Automatic adjustment of the heating system temperature based on periods of cheaper and more expensive electricity.
SMART BUFFER TANK TEMPERATURE LIMITATION
Adjusts the buffer tank temperature to the actual requirements of the heating circuits, improving heat pump efficiency.
PREHEATING BEFORE A MORE EXPENSIVE PERIOD
Additional heating of the buffer tank before a more expensive period, so the building’s needs can be covered using stored energy.
SWITCHING TO AN ALTERNATIVE SOURCE WITH FIXED PRICE
Automatic switching to another heat source when electricity prices are high.
AUTOMATIC PREHEATING ADJUSTMENT
Automatically determines the optimal preheating time based on how quickly the buffer tank heats up and cools down.
CONNECTIVITY
The SHC system supports a wide range of standard communication protocols, including Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP/IP, BACnet/IP (B-ASC), Wi-Fi and MQTT. This enables flexible integration with other automation systems and central supervisory control systems (SCADA/BMS), regardless of the existing infrastructure of any building.

Additional 7″ colour touchscreen with the same user interface as the SHC-002 cabinet, enabling full system overview and control from another location.
DISPLAY OUTSIDE THE CABINET (LPC-3.GOT.012 SHC)
The LPC-3.GOT.012 display can be moved from the SHC-002 cabinet to another location, or an SHC-E02 cabinet can be combined with a separate display.
ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT OFFER
The SHC system can be upgraded with additional equipment for even better control, monitoring and system adjustment. Additional colour displays of various sizes are available, as well as different temperature sensors for measuring temperature in the system, indoors and outdoors.
BLUETOOTH MESH WIRELESS SOLUTION – ROOM TEMPERATURE CONTROL
For temperature control of individual rooms on the same supply line, the SHC system can be supplemented with Smarteh’s wireless Bluetooth Mesh solution. Simple integration enables increased energy efficiency without costly electrical modifications and additional wiring, making it particularly suitable for renovation of existing heating and cooling systems.
